Visual Studio 2005 - Find in Files? What files?

Installed Visual Studio 2005 on a fresh workstation (XP Pro 64bit) and the very first thing I did was perform a text search within a file structure to locate an obscure little piece of code that I needed to change.

I set the search window up, told it which folder to look in, told it to include subfolders, even told it the type of files to look for (ASP in this case), and what do I get within the search results?

No files were found to look in. Find was stopped in progress.

Huh?  The files are there.  Changed it from ASP to *.* and got the same message.

Thankfully in times like this we have google.  I came across an obscure forum post that recommended pressing CTRL+SCROLL LOCK to resolve the issue.  Skeptical, I hit the two keys and, I'll be damned if it didn't work.

What the problem is/was.. and what that key combination does.. will remain a mystery to me.  I'm about to install Studio 2008 - hopefully this won't be an issue there too.
